Transform Your Eyes with a Color Contact Lens

A color contact lens is a simple and inexpensive way to change how you eyes look. It's up to you whether you want a subtle addition to your present eye color or change it completely. And because they're relatively cheap, you can get a different color contact lens for different occasions.

One of the features of wearing a color contact lens is that you don't have to sacrifice your comfort for the sake of appearance. Soft contact lenses are easy to get use to because they're as thin as a human hair and conform to the shape of your eye. So even if you've never worn contacts before, there shouldn't be a problem.

You may like your natural eye color but feel it could be deeper or richer. If so, the color contact lens you want is an enhancement lens. Most enhancement lenses are made for light color eyes and contain a thin layer of tint. The tint is enough to add color to your eyes but not so much that it colors your sight.

To change the color of your eyes, you need an opaque color contact lens. Unlike an enhancement lens, the tint in an opaque lens is non-transparent. And since the lens covers your iris, your eyes have the color of the lens. There's no limit to the effects possible with opaque color contacts. You can have lenses with multiple layers of tint that accurately recreate the look of an iris or novelty lenses that make you look like an alien.

Not every color contact lens is designed to change your appearance. Some newer lenses are made to improve sports performance. The contacts filter out certain background colors which make an object, like a yellow tennis ball, stand out more clearly.

Although you can get a color contact lens without vision correction, you still need a prescription. Your eye's health is at stake if you have an improperly fitted lens, so it's important you see an eyecare professional. Getting an eye exam can also alert you to any possible problems that might come up when wearing contacts.
