Colored toric contacts are like uncolored toric lenses in that a precise fit is required for best visual correction. Astigmatism is what toric lenses correct and it's most often caused by a misshapen cornea. A normal cornea has the spherical shape of a round balloon. But an astigmatic cornea is curved more sharply in one direction than the other. The shape is like the result of squeezing opposite sides of the round balloon. And this distorted cornea cause a distortion in vision.

If you want to change your eye color then you need to get opaque colored toric contacts. These lenses have one to several layers of non-transparent tinting. Because the tint isn't transparent, it is in a band around the center of the lens which is clear. The most natural looking lenses are of the multi-layer type, which reproduces the patterns in the iris and gives the appearance of depth.

In addition to the colored toric contacts that get replaced every year, like traditional lenses, you can also get frequent replacement types. Frequent replacement lenses give you fresh lenses more often and if they're disposable, you never have to clean them.
